Gathering a Wildflower Bouquet in Norway

Best Time for Picking

Season: Late spring to early autumn (May to September) is the best time to find a variety of blooming wildflowers in Norway.

Since we are only in May,
there is many flowers missing from this bouquet.

Morning: Early morning is ideal for picking flowers as they are fresh and hydrated with morning dew.

Common Norwegian Wildflowers

  1. Blåklokke (Harebell): Delicate blue bell-shaped flowers often found in meadows and along paths.
  2. Prestekrage (Oxeye Daisy): White petals with a yellow center, resembling a large daisy, commonly seen in fields.
  3. Rødkløver (Red Clover): Purple-pink clover flowers, which are also beneficial for pollinators.
  4. Engsoleie (Buttercup): Bright yellow flowers that add a splash of sunshine to any bouquet.
  5. Geitrams (Fireweed): Tall spikes of pink to purple flowers, often found in open areas and along roadsides.
  6. Myske (Sweet Woodruff): Small, star-shaped white flowers, often found in shaded woodland areas.
  7. Blomstermargeritt (Oxeye Daisy): Similar to the prestekrage, these are large white daisies with yellow centers.
  8. Liljekonvall (Lily of the Valley): Small, fragrant white bell-shaped flowers, typically found in wooded areas.

A Stroll Through Life

In the gentle hush of morning light,
I step outside, my heart takes flight.
With every stride, the world unfolds,
A tapestry of stories, whispered and told.

The path beneath, both rough and smooth,
Echoes the rhythms of life, its grooves.
Each step a journey, each breath a song,
In nature’s arms, where I belong.

Leaves rustle softly, secrets they share,
Of times long past and memories rare.
The breeze, a messenger, cool and kind,
Clears the clutter from my mind.

"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." - John Muir

Foss Eikeland

Mountains loom, majestic and grand,
While rivers carve through ancient land.
Fields of flowers, colors ablaze,
Guide my spirit through the haze.

Birds in chorus, a melody sweet,
Marking the tempo of my feet.
Their wings a symbol, of freedom’s grace,
In every corner, every place.

Through urban jungles, past city’s roar,
Or tranquil forests, forevermore.
Each walk a canvas, vivid and bright,
Painted with moments, morning to night.

Walking brings a peace profound,
In every footfall, a sacred sound.
The world’s a wonder, vast and wide,
And I, a traveler, on this ride.

So, step by step, I journey on,
With the rising sun, and the twilight gone.
For in each walk, life’s essence found,
In every heartbeat, in every pound.

My inspiration - Norwegian Nature

My heart is where my love is

I am lucky who have such a wonderful view over the town, Sandnes
from the top of Hanafjell where I live

I live close to the many beaches on
 the coast of Jæren

The summer weather today in Norway is very warm and sunny.
Lucky we are still only in May and we have the whole
summer infront of us.

I live close to many mountains, beautiful views

The Road not taken - By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

Sogndalstrand

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
